Our vacation program

During the vacations and on bridging days, we look after your children from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

On most days we provide breakfast and lunch. Lunch is delivered. The cost of this is included in the vacation fee. This does not usually take place on excursion days.

The possible care is included in the membership fee, plus costs for materials, excursions, entrance fees etc. will be charged to you.

The costs incurred for vacation care are debited at the beginning of the respective vacation.

Places for vacation care are allocated according to demand and capacity. Members of the ÜMI-Igelschule e.V. have the option of registering for the vacations within predetermined registration deadlines. The deadlines can be viewed under the heading news.

Further free places during the vacations are available to all primary school children in the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg as part of a short-term membership.

Closing times

We are always closed between Christmas and New Year. A possible closing time in the summer will be announced at the first general meeting of a new school year and can be viewed under the heading news.

Report days and school absences

Where possible, school absences are covered by the ÜMI.

The last school day of each semester ends after the 3rd period, the children can come to the ÜMI after the end of lessons and are looked after as usual until 17:00.

Bridging days

Before the bridging days, our members are asked whether they require childcare. 

If 10 children are registered, childcare will take place.

Summer vacation

The ÜMI-Igelschule e.V. takes a 2 week break during the summer vacation, depending on staff capacity.

So that you and our staff can plan your annual vacation better, we set the closing times for the summer months well in advance.

During the last three days of the vacation, the new children are acclimatized outside of the school day. 

This gives the children and parents the opportunity to make their first contacts and get to know us and the school building.
